I have gotten requests for commissioned portraits since having my work on display at Reform School. I have done a lot of portraits for illustration clients, but never gave too much serious thought into doing commissions for anyone. But, with the recent inquiries about it, I gave it some thought and decided that it would be fun. I love drawing people most of all, I've gotten good with likenesses over the past few years, and I think that it's great for people to have portraits of people who are important to them.
I'm in the midst of building a portfolio to post online, and just did this one yesterday. It's for my father-in-law, and it turns out that he wanted a picture of one of my favorite people in the universe- my husband (isn't he a dollface?!) It was a great photo to start with, and I was happy about how the drawing came out. I'm lucky to see that handsome face every day, don't you think?!
The commission page should be up soon with rates and all!
