it's hard to draw w/ your fingers crossed

CommArts entry... take two! Last year I entered Communication Arts illustration annual, and they must have blinked while my images were being projected b/c I didn't get picked. This year, babies and penguins were entered. At the least, I can write off the $60 entry fee and $17 fedex expense. Still, I'm hoping for the best (hence the finger crossage).

This, btw is "#8 Stand in A Bunch of Penguins (Preferably in the Wild)". This is the one that I mentioned I now have 3 different versions of. But, this is the final- no more (unless I get that wacom tablet, I may give it a go digitally).

I did much of nothing in the way of drawing and painting last week b/c of a whirlwind of installing exhibitions at work. They came out well (Word2 and Sketchy at Columbia), but they pooped me out. I was zombified every evening, but did see the Motorcycle Diaries which was beautiful (slow, but beautiful). Ah, Gael...

This weekend I hope to have another in the series done (I'm way behind on my self imposed deadline of April 1st, unless I don't leave the house until then). It is however all springy springy outside, and Kuub beckons...

I have a coveted meeting w/ a potential freelance client soon and am also busy stacking all of my eggs into that basket this weekend. I may do some marker work since that's their forte. Again with the finger crossage!
